NPF-GRAPPA Dermatology-Rheumatology Collaborative Initiative - San Francisco

NPF and GRAPPA will provide live, local education for rheumatologists, dermatologists, primary care providers and allied health in 5 regional conferences planned for 2016.   Each conference will feature nationally recognized experts, chosen from the members of each organization. Attendees will receive a maximum of 4.75 AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM through didactic lectures, case-based presentations, and breakout sessions demonstrating physical exams and ultrasound techniques on patients.   During the sessions, questions will be asked using an electronic audience response system, and learner participation will be encouraged throughout the sessions, especially during the hands-on portion of the physical exam and the Ask an Expert session. The session will also feature a patient speaker who will inform the audience about quality of life considerations with psoriatic disease. 

This activity is supported by educational grants from AbbVie, Celgene Corporation, Janssen Biotech and Mallinckrodt Pharmaceuticals.

Learning Objectives

After completing this activity, participants should be able to:

• Discuss the epidemiology, clinical features, and classification of psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis (PsA)

• Describe current understanding of the pathogenesis of psoriasis and PsA

• Implement most recent methods to assess and treat psoriasis and PsA

• Identify and better manage key co-morbidities of psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis and their impact
